Ayana C. Whitfield is widely known in the beauty industry as the author of “Stylist of Interest”. Ayana quickly became the “Stylist of Interest” she writes about in this book. Early in her career as an active behind the chair stylist she quickly created a booked solid client list. Ayana quickly rose through the beauty profession by infusing her business acumen, entrepreneurial mindset, with her incredible focus and passion.
She became known for her deep ability to move future professionals as well as established industry professionals from where they are to where they want to be. She soon moved from beyond the chair and began helping many others through educating them on how
to increase their clientele and income with her systems. She helps industry professionals’ package and sell their “SPECIAL”, so that clients are attracted to the incredible uniqueness they possess inside.
Stylist of Interest is the new wave of business for all industry professionals and helps you focus on “Becoming the stylist that clients can’t live without”. You will learn how to attract clients and not chase them. She deeply enjoys helping stylist move to the next level. Her vision and dreams have become a reality. She has been blessed with countless opportunities to touch the lives of many and guide them into one of the best industries created the beauty and barber industry.
Ayana has been designing hair since early childhood. The beauty industry has always been a part of her life. It is her aspiration and long-term goal to change the world through beauty. Hair is her ministry! This is how she ministers and touch the lives of so many people. In order to matriculate to this level with order and grace God is and will forever be her solid foundation. Her podium has been working behind the chair until her retirement December 2021!
Ayana furthered her education early in her career by becoming a Licensed Cosmetology Instructor and Master Barber. Being a Master Educator has allowed her to positively impact more lives and witness the transition of future professionals walking in their destiny and purpose. She began educating at Paul Mitchell the School Nashville/Antioch, International
Barber & Style College and Music City Barber College.
Quickly evolving to Bronner Brothers
International Hair Show, American Beauty Show Chicago, International Beauty Show New York/
Las Vegas, Premiere Orlando, Major League Barber Expo and many other events. Ayana also educated as an Artistic Director for Regis Corporation, Supercuts Division for 6 years traveling the United States, educating and training stylist all over including Canada. She is now with Paul Mitchell the School Nashville/Hendersonville starting as Clinic Floor Leader quickly moving to Sales Leader and now Co-Education Leader & Core Specialist.
Ayana has had the privilege and honor of being part of the 1st place winning team at Bronner Brothers Hair Show August 2012 Barber Battle, as well as 3 rd place winning team of 2014 Bronner Brothers Champion of Barbers Competition. This has allowed her the opportunity to experience new heights in the beauty and barber industry. Ayana was able to work with
legendary Nashville, Tennessee Master Barber Vernon Winfrey for 10 years. Vernon was a Master Barber for over 65 years, and is the father of the famous Oprah Winfrey, who recently passed away July 2022.
As a means of giving back to the community, Ayana rendered her professional hair care services to those who were less fortunate. She has partnered with the Nashville Predators and Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital creating wigs for children with leukemia and she also donates custom wigs to breast cancer patients and survivors. In addition, Ayana continuously works with several non-profit organizations when opportunity presents itself. She believes that the blessed should be a blessing every chance you get. As she incorporates her spirituality into her daily life and professional journey, you can expect more great things to come! As her Mission Statement Reads:
